 | Inspiring! Feb 22, 2010 |
Heidi Baker is an amazing picture of the Love of Jesus in action. She disregards the danger, diseases, smells of sickness and burning garbage dumps, to help the poorest of the poor, taking hungry, abandoned children home with her to the loving care of their orphanages at Iris Ministries. This book will show the average plush American how to lay down self and live in Love with the One who loves us most, then being His hands and feet to help the lost, hungry and homeless! Also good to get are video DVD's on Heidi and Rolland Baker's lives. | | | | Heidi and Rolland give you a peek into the world of miracles where they live Dec 19, 2009 |
Jesus got people's attention in the days of His ministry by manifesting divinity through the miracles he performed, using the power of the Holy Spirit and His Father. Those miracles captured the attention of non-believers and often brought them into a love relationship with Jesus. This scenario plays out on a daily basis in the Mozambique countryside as the Baker's restore the sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf. Many other signs and wonders have followed them. They are bringing entire villages to Jesus as a result. I find that hearing of miracles brings a great boost to my faith. It demonstrates to me that God is working in our lives and that He does reward those who seek him diligently. I suggest you read all three of these books and share vicariously the miraculous move of our Master in Mozambique. There are stories of redemption and restoration that you will never forget. And most importantly, the lesson on how to love is preached very eloquently through the actions of the authors. These people have become my heroes. You may never look at a book or at Christianity the same. Another key factor is seeing that although Heidi Baker is totally sold out to God, she still learns obedience by what she suffers, the same as Jesus. Another key aspect to life that Heidi manifests is that God does not always take the storm out of our lives, but rather teaches us how to dance in the rain.

| A Great Book on how God is moving in signs and wonder and how you can too! | | | | Yea God! Jun 24, 2008 |
| This book won't collect any prizes for great literature, being essentially a journal and a collection of blogs, but the story it tells is amazing. I couldn't be more impressed with Heidi and Rolland Baker. They are just ordinary people who have said, "Yes, God" and laid their lives on the alter, letting God work through them to do His will and bring His kingdom to the poorest (but richest) people on earth. It is both inspiring and convicting, because it reveals what incredible and mind-boggling things the Lord can accomplish through anyone who has died to self and is totally yielded to Him. The Bakers are a living portrait of the love of Jesus in action. | | | Write your own review about Expecting Miracles
