| This is really a great book. The author/illustrator chose great songs, and the illustrations are perfect. I also bought the nursery rhythms book which is also great. I am picky about books, especially nursery rhythms. These books are great! my 15 month old loves them both, but the song book is her favorite. Every toddler should have a song book and nursery rhythm book in their book collection (can you tell i am a teacher!), and these fit the bill perfectly! | | | | A beautiful keepsake or gift for any child! This is not a true "board book" like the kind you see for babies. It is actually a hardcover book with a velvet-like spine. The pages are definitely thicker than normal and there are two pages attached back to back with raised illustrations. Since the pages are so thick, I'm sure that's why they're referred to it as a "board book." Bleck's illustrations are some of the most creative, adorable illustrations I've seen in a long time.
In this book, you will find favorite children's songs like "Skip to my Lou," "Here we go round the Mulberry Bush," "Three Blind Mice," etc.
It is absolutely beautiful! This would be a wonderful keepsake for your child and something they could even pass on to their own children. It would also make a great gift for another family.
I highly recommend A Children's Treasury of Songs for any family with a child age seven and under. As a special note, I think families with special needs children would greatly enjoy the songs and raised illustrations where the children can FEEL the illustrations under their fingertips.
