Punk rock got a shot in the arm May 29, 2010
For quite a while, I had this record suggested to me, but I hesitated to get it. Mostly because from looking at the cover, it looks like it might be some kind of dark Metal band or something (mostly, now that I think about it, from the way David Hostetter is looking at the camera with his eye make-up). Eventually though, I gave in and bought the record. I'm really glad I did.
I'm a fan of good punk music, but unfortunately there's little (in my opinion) good stuff available at the moment. Children 18:3, though, is definately one of the best ones I've ever heard. Granted all their songs aren't straight up punk, there are other styles that you can feel the influences of, but it just makes for a much more interesting record and the punk stands as the most dominant style. David and his sister Leemarie both have extremely strong vocal performances and tend to weave their voices together perfectly throughout the chaos of most of this record.
Lyrically, the record tends to remain cryptic, opting for a kind of "visual" lyrical style. They tend to deal a wide variety of subjects, from the spiritual anthem for Jesus' followers in "Final," to inner conflict hidden from others in "ditches," to even abortion in "we're all so fond of dying."
All in all, this is a record for people ranging die-hard punk fans to people just loooking for a fresh sound in music. Pick up this record, you WILL NOT be sorry ou did. |

Wow! My brother saw these guys live and has their cd and told me that they were really good so I decided to download their cd and listen to them. Wow was he ever right. These guys and girl are awesome. Every song is so great and fun to rock out to. If you are looking for a good punk rock group that is lots of fun to rock out to, look no further than Children 18:3. You will be glad you did.

Fresh Sound Jul 1, 2009
I was skeptical about purchasing this CD, thinking it would be a typical 3 good songs with 7 fillers. It's not that at all. Not only are there 14 tracks on here but they are all strong. They have such a fresh and unique sound, especially for the Christian music scene. The fact that they are a family band just adds icing to the cake, in my opinion. I'm definitely looking forward to their future releases!
