Wow. The subtitle to Donna Goodman's book is "The Complete How-to Book for Christian Writers." Words like "complete" often make me shake my head--but after purchasing "A Step in the Write Direction,"I can attest that this book is indeed a complete guide. I can say without reservation, "If you can only buy one book about writing for the Christian market, this is the book."
"A Step in the Write Direction" is a compilation based on Goodman's many years of teaching, mentoring, and writing for publication. She is a mentor and a friend to writers at all skill levels. I've learned new things and refreshed my memory on many other aspects of writing for publication. I recommend this book for the beginner as well as the intermediate and seasoned writer--it's almost an encyclopedia covering the different genres, marketing, editing, challenges of being a writer, and an appendix that I've already filled with "post-it flags."
