 | Interactive resource on Biblical mothers Aug 6, 2007 |
| An "interactive" book -- each chapter includes questions and space to answer them in writing. Each chapter also includes a "tribute," written by someone other than the author, to a paticular contemporary woman/mother who represents the qualities talked about in the chapter. Among the mothers covered: Even, Sarah, Rebekah, Jochabed, Samson's mother, Naomi, Hannah, Deborah, the Proverbs 31 mother, Elizabeth, Mary. The author and her husband are therapists focusing on families and couples. | | | | A Wonderful Study Guide For Mothers Apr 12, 2000 |
| I was greately encouraged by each lesson in the book. They offer valuable spiritual insights and godly wisdom. I highly recommend this study guide to any mother who seeks to pass on Christian values to her children. One of the lesson was about patience. Jeanne Hendrick used Elizabeth's unwaving trust in God to illustrate how we as mothers could learn to wait on God. It was not until Elizabeth was in her old age that she was pregnant with John. When God's messager announced to her that she would be with child, she accepted the announcement without any doubt. The Bible said she was upright throughtout her life, throught all those years when she was without child. I was especially touched by Jeanne Hendrick's comment that even though most of us accepted the fact that "patience is a virtue", we took issue in learning patience and yet the book of James in the Bible said we learned patience through tribulation. | | | Write your own review about A Mother's Legacy: Encouragement from Mothers of the Bible (Lifechange Series)
