| A laugh-out-loud joy to read. if this were written as satire it would be the work of a genius. as it is... | | | | Sly Exploitation of Our Worst Instincts Nov 25, 2006 |
| This book, and the whole Left Behind series, have to be recognized for what they are: escapist literature addressed to those who want to read violent and slightly erotic books but who feel queasy doing so. The pretence of Biblical interpretation can only make the whole shebang more offensive to anyone well-acquianted with the Scriptures and with 2000 years of Christian history. It's time to scorn the false piety and hypocricy of dollar-happy self-appointed leaders in the current religious awakening. | | | | Slow book with no plot Nov 22, 2006 |
"Tribulation Force" picks up where "Left Behind" ended, and like that book, this one's slow. After the first one, I thought maybe things would start to happen in this one, but they don't. There are a few plot elements that are connected with endless filler. And none of the things that do happen in are completely devoid of suspense. There's one major event that we're told after the fact via a TV newscast. You might think that a book about the end of days would be interesting, but these authors obviously don't know how to write a thriller. It's just endless soap opera. This book and "Left Behind" should have been one volume. If all the books are the same pace, the whole series should have been a trilogy, but of course, then they would make less money.
Don't waste your time on it and don't encourage these talentless hacks by buying their books. | | | | The natural progression from the first book. Nov 9, 2006 |
If you have not read the first book, then do not pick this one up.
I believe this book and the first are really two halves of one book, but then the same could be argued for the whole series. I just found that the ties between this book and the first are much more natural in progression, when later books start to become a little disjointed and jarring. At least in 'Tribulation Force,' all of the characters' lives and stories are still interlinked in a way that is interesting and keeps you reading.
I personally enjoyed it and while I think the series goes downhill after this one, that is a personal opinion and I'm sure those who continue to read on will come to their own conclusions. | | | | Tribulation Force Review Oct 30, 2006 |
| Tribulation Force is one of the best books I ever read. it is one of my favorites because it has drama, romance, and real life situations that could happen in the future. I especially like the relationship between Cameron "Buck" Willams and Chloe Steele. The only reason I like it is because you don't know if they will get together or not. The other thing that got me thinking was the thought of world war III. World war III to me is so realistic especially compared to the events that are taking place today. The last thing that kept interest was to think who was going to survive the next judgement by already knowing who has died during the other judgements. | | | Write your own review about Tribulation Force (Left Behind V2)
