I received this bible for free, directly from Tyndale, while in seminary. At the time, I was using the NASB (New American Standard Bible) because of its word-for-word accuracy. Yet, I held onto this NLT because it was comforting to read the Bible smoothly and with immediate clarity. In fact, I liked it so much, I eventually switched. I have decided to use the NLT all the time now (note, I am not a pastor).
This particular format is my favorite, and I have tried everything from 2kg bibles to Thinline bibles. The font makes for fast comprehension, but is not so large that the book is too thick. The paper is a clean white that is easy to read, and it has an ideal thinness for turning pages. | I am delighted with this new living translation of the Bible. I have not read the Bible jut for pleasure in a long time but that is what this version does for me. I look forward to my daily reading time with anticipation. It is in plain language that is easy to understand and has numerous footnotes with references to other versions.
