What a Bargain  Mar 12, 2010
This is a remarkable study Bible (the best I've seen) at a great price. We actually bought two, one for myself and one for my husband.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars...the item description says Genuine should read bonded leather. That doesn't effect it's usefulness, but it is a bit deceptive.
it`s the love of money  Jun 27, 2009

lets get right to the point, the person who claims to have had a 1994 edition and now is boosting the new 2008 isnt being honest..this bible is a disgrace to what it once was (1994 edition)

the wide margin in the center, GONE the ref verses that are in the center go into the crease sometimes and very hard to read as the page numbers too.

the paper is much thinner and garbage and for the FILTY LUCRE
the thompson chain is the same way, dont buy, make them bring the quality back !
The Best Bible on the Market  Feb 9, 2009
I cannot over emphisise the need of a good study Bible in the consistant pursuit of daily Bible reading and meditation. Few things are as frustrating as reading a passage of Scripture and not grasping what God ment by what God said. The study notes in the Ryrie study Bible(obviously) are not inspired of God but do provide excellent help in giving and discribing the historical, grammatical, and practical applications of the Scriptures. They are invaluble to the believer climbing the mountian of accurate Biblical interpritation. I've used the Ryrie Study Bible for over thirty years and in my opinion this is the best Sudy Bible on the market.
The best Study Bible for cross-references and solid notes  Jan 12, 2009
I once owned a Ryrie NAS Study Bible and loved the easy way it read with each verse in a paragraph type format and with cross references referring to each verse conveniently located next to it in the margin. But then I became drawn to the Kings James version with its majestic, Shakespearean-like, poetic language. So back in 1994, I rushed out to buy the just then released updated Ryrie KJV Study Bible. But to my dismay, I discovered that for some unknown reason, it had 91 less pages than the Ryrie NAS Study Bible (as well as the NIV Study Bible). And as I looked through the Ryrie KJV, it appeared to have different, as well as less, references, especially in the New Testament, than Ryrie's NAS. Fast forward to 2008. I discover that Ryrie is releasing a new printing of their Study Bibles. To my delight, I find that each version, including the King James, has been updated and now contains 2336 pages! I quickly purchase the new
KJV at a great pre-release price through this site and have been delighted with it. Compared to the 1994 Ryrie KJV Study Bible, the 2008 edition has 137 more pages! And there appears to be many more of the cross-reference notes that I appreciate so much in my Bible studies. By the way, if you would like to balance the scholarly but conservative notes of the Ryrie Study Bible with a conservative but more "Spirit-sensitive" Study Bible, I would highly recommend the Life in the Spirit Study Bible. I use both the Ryrie and the Life in the Spirit Study Bibles every morning during my devotion time with the Lord and couldn't be more pleased.
