as a combat veteran and now a retiring soldier I think folks should see the message on the entire dog tag and no zero in on just one thing, it sustains me in time of need. I reminds me GOD is there and I shouldn't be afraid.

One Nation Under God? Oct 8, 2008
I technically disagree with the caption "One Nation Under God." While all of creation is "under God," many Americans have become arrogant and no longer live their lives according to God's will. Concerning the post "God instead of the flag," this person seems to be like a self-righteous cafeteria Christian or Catholic. He/she is concerned that there are no "image of God" dog tags available, and quotes the First Commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Had he/she needs to read on to the Second Commandment, which says, "Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness..." Exodus 20:4.

God instead of the flag. Jun 20, 2008
I love the "One Nation Under God" tags, at least as I see them here, but, I was wondering when and if anyone will ever put the image of God around such a claim of wanting God in our country instead of the flag. I love the American flag, but, which and who is more important here, the flag or God. And who are we imploring for support, God, or the flag. It seems if more such Christian / patriotic symbols are printed or otherwise attached to sellable items, including bumper stickers, of which I have a very big "God Bless America" sticker on the back of my truck, had an image of God / Jesus on it instead of the American flag, more people, including God Himself, would believe we really meant what we said. Wasn't one of His greatest commandments something to the effect that we shall not put any other gods before him? Don't we need to put His image up front instead of the American flag? I've got a 20' flag pole proudly flying the American flag in my front yard, so, patriotism, or the lack thereof is not an issue here. It's prioritizing our imaging that I worry about. God Bless you.
